FedEx Corp. released its 2025 Global Economic Impact Report today (November 4, 2025), revealing that the company generated $1.6 billion in direct and indirect economic activity across the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent, and Africa (MEISA) during fiscal year 2025.

Produced with Dun & Bradstreet, the report explains how FedEx’s global network supported regional trade, employment, and innovation, with India playing a leading role in driving digital and logistics growth.

Raj Subramaniam, president and CEO of FedEx Corporation, said, “For more than 50 years, FedEx has shaped global commerce by offering innovative shipping services that bring communities closer together.” He added that the company’s focus on innovation and service helped it adapt to the changing global trade environment and supply chain shifts during the year.

Within MEISA, FedEx contributed 0.1 per cent to the net economic output of the region’s Transportation, Storage, and Communications sector and indirectly added $330 million to the broader economy, a 17 per cent increase from the previous year. India emerged as a digital and operational hub within this network, driving efficiencies and innovation through technology-led initiatives.

“India’s growing role in our network reflects how innovation and capacity building can transform global trade,” said Kami Viswanathan, president, FedEx Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and Africa. “By combining scalable AI-driven tools with enhanced air connectivity, we’re enabling Indian businesses to move goods faster, plan smarter, and access more global opportunities.”

FedEx has embedded AI across its Indian operations to simplify trade and improve logistics performance. Its FedEx Import Tool (FiT) helps businesses digitise cross-border documentation and reduce clearance times. The new Guangzhou–Bengaluru air route, launched in fiscal year 2025, connects southern India’s manufacturing hubs directly to global trade lanes, enhancing export reliability.

The report noted that FedEx spent $704 million with suppliers across MEISA in 2024, of which 82 per cent went to small businesses. Across the region, 88 per cent of its suppliers were small enterprises, reflecting its continued support for local entrepreneurship and resilient supply chains.

Globally, FedEx contributed $126 billion in total direct and indirect impact during fiscal year 2025, supported by its workforce of more than 500,000 employees and a network spanning 220 countries and territories. The company said it will continue to invest in automation, digitalisation, and sustainability to strengthen its role in enabling trade and connecting economies like India to the world.
