FedEx and Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya have signed a Letter of Intent to explore collaboration in logistics education, skill development and industry exposure for students.
The LoI identifies areas for academic and industry engagement. These include co-developing learning modules, preparing case studies, conducting lectures and workshops, and offering students exposure to logistics operations. Both sides aim to build an environment where learners can understand current trends, challenges and developments in the logistics sector.
“India’s logistics landscape is evolving rapidly, and the next generation of professionals will play a decisive role in how the sector grows,” said Suvendu Choudhury, Vice President of India operations and planning and engineering at FedEx, Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and Africa. He said, “By integrating industry insights into formal learning, the initiative bridges the academia–industry gap and ensures students develop practical, job-ready skills for modern logistics roles.”
Prof. Manoj Choudhary, vice-chancellor of Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya, said, "The partnership between FedEx and GSV shall advance the field of logistics and supply chain through digitalisation and advanced technology integration. The focus on skilling and human resource development shall catalyse the entire logistics industry."
The LoI continues FedEx’s efforts to support India’s skill development programmes. Earlier projects include the Centre of Excellence set up with IIT Madras and IIT Bombay and digital training for young professionals. The company said these initiatives reflect its ongoing interest in building logistics capabilities across the country.
Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya was set up in 2022 under the Ministry of Railways. It offers programmes across the transport and logistics sectors, including railways, highways, ports, aviation and supply chain networks.
