Celcius, Ottobock launch prosthetics logistics hub in India
The Thane facility will manage 2,000+ SKUs, support 24 clinics and 200 partners, and includes temperature-controlled storage under a five-year deal.

Celcius Logistics has partnered with Ottobock India, the Indian arm of Germany’s Ottobock, to set up a dedicated prosthetics warehouse and logistics distribution hub in India. As part of the partnership, Celcius has also launched a tech-enabled warehouse facility in Thane to support the nationwide distribution of prosthetic and assistive devices.
The partnership will support the medical supply chain by reducing turnaround times and improving access to prosthetic devices across the country. Celcius Logistics will use its distribution network to manage the movement of prosthetic limbs to clinics and partners in multiple regions across India.
The 3,000 sq. ft. facility includes ambient storage, 110 slotted angle racks with more than 700 bin locations, and a 100 sq. ft. temperature-controlled area for sensitive medical materials. The warehouse has been designed to support inventory management and faster order fulfilment through processes aligned with standard quality and handling protocols.
The facility is equipped to manage more than 2,000 SKUs and support distribution across 24 clinics and more than 200 independent partners, including associations with the Government of India.
According to the companies, prosthetic manufacturing and distribution require controlled storage conditions to maintain product integrity, durability and performance. The dedicated temperature-controlled zone has been included to support the handling of sensitive components and ensure consistent product quality for patients.
Celcius will manage end-to-end warehouse operations and transportation using its in-house warehouse management solutions (WMS) and transport management solutions (TMS) for inbound and outbound movement, inventory management and nationwide distribution. The facility has been dedicated exclusively to Ottobock and is operational under a five-year contract.
Commenting on the partnership, Swarup Bose said, “This partnership reflects how healthcare supply chains in India are evolving towards greater precision, reliability, and accountability. At Celcius, we are focused on building infrastructure that can consistently support the movement of high-value, sensitive medical products at scale. By combining our technology-led logistics capabilities with Ottobock’s global expertise, we are enabling a more robust and responsive distribution ecosystem.”
Mats Frank added, “For us, supply chain reliability is directly linked to patient outcomes. As we continue to expand our presence in India, having a partner like Celcius strengthens our ability to deliver critical prosthetic solutions with consistency and speed. This alliance gives us a scalable, future-ready logistics backbone aligned with the standards we uphold globally. Particularly, the use of e-vehicles for delivery is one more step towards our commitment to the environment.”
The companies said they plan to expand the warehouse capacity by 25 per cent within the next year in line with growing demand and operations. The partnership aims to support the development of a stronger technology-enabled healthcare logistics infrastructure and improve access to critical medical devices across India.
