Blue Dart has onboarded more than 200 persons with disabilities (PwDs) into full-time, mainstream roles across its operations, marking a key step in the company’s inclusion journey. The hires span core functions such as sorting centres, customer experience, warehousing and last-mile support.

The initiative forms part of Blue Dart’s long-term effort to build an inclusive organisation focused on equal opportunity, sustainable livelihoods and dignity at work. To support this, the company has partnered with ecosystem enablers including Sarthak Educational Trust, which has helped with skill development, workplace assessments, infrastructure alignment and ongoing support for seamless integration.

Commenting on the milestone, Balfour Manuel, Managing Director of Blue Dart, said inclusion is a principle at the company and not a standalone programme. He said persons with disabilities are joining the organisation in mainstream roles and contributing directly to the core of the business, supported by clear goals and measurable outcomes.

As part of the programme, Blue Dart has rolled out sensitisation workshops, sign language training, customised workplace adaptations and role-based enablement frameworks. These measures are aimed at ensuring employees are equipped and supported in their roles. The company said it plans to further strengthen its hiring pipeline and expects the number of PwD employees to increase in the coming year.

Beena Jacob, Chief Human Resources Officer at Blue Dart, said the company is focused on integrating diverse talent into core business functions rather than limiting inclusion to symbolic roles. She added that the organisation is building a culture where employees are respected and valued for their potential.

Blue Dart said partnerships with Sarthak Educational Trust and other organisations have helped create accessible recruitment processes, job-readiness programmes and continued workplace support. Dr Jitender Aggarwal, Founder of Sarthak Educational Trust, said the initiative reflects equal opportunity, dignity and expectations for persons with disabilities within the workplace.
