AVG Logistics begins electric vehicle operations for Tata Steel
The EV fleet will be used for intra-plant and short-haul deliveries

AVG Logistics Limited inaugurated the deployment of electric vehicles (EVs) into operations at Tata Steel. The initiative, which aims to support sustainable logistics, was launched at Tata Steel’s premises. The EV fleet will be used for intra-plant and short-haul deliveries, aligning with both companies’ goal of reducing carbon emissions and promoting environmentally responsible transportation.
AVG Logistics is the first company in India to introduce the 55-tonne high-capacity electric trucks, developed by Tata Motors in 2025, into commercial operations. The company expects that the deployment of these vehicles will expand its service offerings, enhance operational efficiency, and support the increasing demand for green supply chain solutions across key sectors.
Sanjay Gupta, Managing Director & CEO of AVG Logistics Limited, said, “This milestone reinforces our pledge to sustainability and reliability. By deploying electric vehicles in collaboration with an esteemed partner like Tata Steel, we strive to set a benchmark for green logistics in India. This initiative is just the beginning of a long-term vision where clean energy and efficient transportation go hand in hand.”
The introduction of EVs also supports AVG Logistics’ wider transformation strategy focused on digitalisation, sustainability, and customer-centric operations. The company views this initiative as a model for the future of green logistics in India’s industrial sector.
Founded in 2010, AVG Logistics provides multimodal logistics solutions, including transportation, warehousing, and third-party logistics services. With a network of over 50 branches and a fleet of more than 3,000 vehicles, the company serves clients across various industries, including FMCG, cement, telecom, and automotive.
