Shadowfax has announced that OneNCR, its largest automated sortation facility to date, is now fully operational. The launch marks a major capacity expansion for the on-demand third-party logistics platform and represents an investment of approximately INR 50 crore.

Located in the National Capital Region (NCR), the 2.1 lakh sq. ft. mega-hub significantly enhances the company’s operational scale and technological capabilities. Designed to function as a high-speed processing centre, OneNCR is equipped with a state-of-the-art automated sorter capable of handling 48,000 shipments per hour, positioning it among the highest throughput facilities in India’s logistics sector.

At peak capacity, the facility is engineered to process up to 10 lakh (one million) shipments per day. It will serve as the central processing engine for Shadowfax Prime, the company’s dedicated same-day and next-day delivery vertical, supporting the growing demand for rapid fulfilment across direct-to-consumer (D2C) and e-commerce segments.

A key feature of the hub is its “single-touch” logistics model, aimed at reducing operational friction and minimising transit delays. By enabling nearly 80 percent of shipments to be directly manifested for last-mile delivery at origin, the system reduces multiple handling stages, lowering the risk of errors and accelerating turnaround times.

The hub strengthens network connectivity with up to 80 direct linehaul routes that bypass intermediate hubs. It also offers the capability to perform more than 3,000 unique origin-level sorts, enhancing routing precision. Additional semi-automated lines can handle up to 20,000 shipments per hour when activated, while specialised bag and box sortation systems can process up to 6,000 shipments per hour, adding flexibility during peak demand cycles.

“Network ownership is the bedrock of long-term operating leverage in the express business,” said Abhishek Bansal, Chairman, Managing Director, CEO at Shadowfax. “Investing in OneNCR is a significant step toward building state-of-the-art sort centres that will give us a competitive advantage from both speed and cost standpoints.”

As India’s e-commerce and D2C markets continue to expand, the operationalisation of OneNCR strengthens Shadowfax’s nationwide network spanning 2,500 cities and over 15,166 pincodes. The facility’s location and automation-driven design position the company to deliver greater reliability, speed and cost efficiency for brands and marketplaces across the country.
