Postal services to the US put on hold from India
Customers can claim postage refunds as India works to restore suspended mail services to the United States.

The Department of Posts has announced a complete suspension of booking of all categories of mail to the United States of America. This includes letters, documents and gift items valued up to $100.
The decision follows the continued inability of carriers to transport mail to the USA and the absence of clear regulatory mechanisms to support such movement. The Department said it had reviewed the matter after its earlier notice dated 22 August 2025 and decided to stop accepting any U.S.-bound consignments until further notice.
Customers who have already booked items that could not be dispatched are eligible to claim a refund of the postage paid. The Department assured that it is closely monitoring the situation and is making efforts to restore mail services to the USA at the earliest.
Officials expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to customers and reiterated their commitment to resume services once conditions permit.
