Porter expands to Calicut, Tiruppur, Rajkot to power SME logistics
Porter boosts South and West India presence, enabling SMEs and gig workers with tech-driven logistics solutions.

Porter, one of India’s leading intracity logistics platforms, has expanded its operations into three new cities—Calicut in Kerala, Tiruppur in Tamil Nadu, and Rajkot in Gujarat—as part of its broader South and West India growth strategy. This move is aligned with the company’s goal of entering 4–5 cities every year, with a focus on strengthening local economies, supporting SMEs, and creating sustainable gig employment opportunities.
In the first phase, Porter will offer two-wheeler delivery services in the newly added cities, with plans to roll out other vehicle categories—including three-wheelers, Tata Ace, LCVs, HCVs, and EVs—in the coming months. These services will cater to a wide range of delivery needs, offering scalable and tech-enabled solutions for both B2B and B2C logistics requirements.
The selected cities have been chosen for their unique economic landscapes. Calicut’s thriving trade culture and tech-friendly consumers make it ideal for on-demand logistics services. Tiruppur, renowned as a major garment export hub, has strong B2B logistics demand, while Rajkot’s diverse manufacturing sectors and rising e-commerce adoption call for a reliable and flexible delivery infrastructure.
According to Ankit Dwivedi, VP and Expansion Head at Porter, the company is not only addressing operational inefficiencies and scalability gaps in tier-II cities but also enabling gig workers with flexible income opportunities and digital support systems. “Porter is committed to creating sustainable growth for small businesses and strengthening the economic backbone of India one city and one delivery at a time,” he said.
Initial operations have already begun with local driver-partners onboarded, and Porter aims to serve 10,000 to 15,000 customers per city within the first year. The expansion is expected to generate direct and indirect employment and support the logistics needs of local retailers and SMEs through both standard and enterprise-level services.
With India’s regional economies growing rapidly, Porter’s tech-driven logistics solutions are positioned to unlock new efficiencies and improve accessibility to reliable, last-mile delivery services nationwide.
