Meesho powers festive season with 12 lakh new jobs
Over 70% of festive jobs come from tier 3 and 4 cities, with sharp growth in seller and logistics hiring.

Ahead of the festive season, Meesho has announced the creation of around 12 lakh seasonal job opportunities through its seller and logistics network, with more than 70 percent of these in tier 3 and tier 4 regions. This marks a 40 percent rise in festive hiring compared to last year.
Within its seller network, Meesho’s partners have hired about 5.5 lakh seasonal workers. These workers are being trained for roles such as sorting, manufacturing, and packaging. Sellers are also preparing by adding new products, entering new categories, curating festive collections, and carrying out inventory checks to meet rising customer demand.
On the logistics side, Meesho has worked with prominent third-party logistics providers and Valmo to generate about 6.7 lakh seasonal jobs, nearly 90 percent more than last year. These jobs include first-mile, middle-mile and delivery associates, covering tasks like picking, sorting, loading, unloading, and handling returns.
Commenting on the development, Sourabh Pandey, CXO, Fulfilment and Experience at Meesho, said the festive season is when Indian households place their trust in e-commerce, and the company has a responsibility to ensure sellers are ready and logistics run smoothly. He noted that a large share of opportunities this year are coming from tier 3 cities, adding that Meesho’s focus is to empower Indian businesses, manufacturers and logistics partners, making e-commerce inclusive and accessible for all.
As India heads into its busiest shopping season, Meesho is enabling local businesses to expand their operations. The company remains committed to offering affordable products and ensuring access to customers across the country.
