Etihad Cargo has launched SmartTrack, a first-of-its-kind shipment visibility service that enables customers to monitor cargo in real time. The service delivers transparency, reliability and proactive monitoring through a dedicated control centre, customer dashboard and advanced sensor technology.

The launch marks a key milestone in Etihad Cargo’s digital transformation strategy and reinforces its focus on innovation, global capacity and service excellence. Introduced earlier this year at Air Cargo Europe 2025 in Munich, SmartTrack is now available worldwide through the Etihad Cargo website, making the carrier the first in the air cargo industry to offer such advanced tracking technology.

SmartTrack provides customers with live updates on shipment location and condition. Using cellular, GPS and Wi-Fi connectivity, the service sends instant alerts on temperature, humidity, shock, tilt and light events, ensuring reliability and proactive risk management.

To further support customers, Etihad Cargo has established a 24/7 SmartTrack Control Centre. The centre offers live case tracking, prioritisation of alerts and actionable workflows for real-time intervention and resolution. Alongside this, a customer dashboard has been launched, giving users a simple platform to track shipments by AWB, origin, destination or product type. Customers can monitor sensor data, receive SLA notifications, access custody chain insights and get alerts on delays, geofence violations and temperature excursions.

The development of SmartTrack was carried out in partnership with Tag-N-Trac. This included synchronisation of booking data, sensor event integration and geofence alerting to create a seamless customer experience.

Stanislas Brun, Chief Cargo Officer at Etihad Airways, said SmartTrack represents a major step forward in supporting customers. He added that by combining simplicity, intelligence and automation, the service provides greater confidence and control while setting a new benchmark for shipment visibility.

SmartTrack is part of Etihad Cargo’s broader digital transformation roadmap. The carrier aims to combine real-time tracking, round-the-clock monitoring and customer-first design to reinforce its leadership in global air freight innovation.
