Crown Worldwide Group opens future-ready facility in Coimbatore
Crown expands its Indian footprint with a green-certified hub in Coimbatore, boosting storage and information management capacity for a key global market.

Hong Kong-based Crown Worldwide Group has officially bolstered its presence in the Indian subcontinent with the launch of a state-of-the-art facility in Coimbatore. This move marks a significant strategic expansion into what the Group identifies as one of its top five global markets. Situated on a sprawling 4.5-acre site, the new hub is engineered to facilitate integrated storage and information management solutions, catering to an increasingly sophisticated corporate demand for secure and scalable asset handling.
The facility’s Phase 1 capacity is currently set at over 468,000 Standard Carton Equivalents (SCE). However, the infrastructure has been designed with an eye toward the future; a planned Phase 2 expansion is set to add an additional 45,000 sq. ft., which will push the total capacity to a massive 720,000 SCE. Beyond document management, the site acts as a multi-functional base for Crown Relocations and Crown Workspace, featuring a specialised Renew Centre dedicated to the refurbishment and reuse of workplace assets.
The grand inauguration saw the presence of the Group’s top brass, including Jennifer Harvey (Group CEO), Tze Shen Kong (CEO – Asia), and Srinivas Krishnan (Regional Managing Director – South Asia).
"As Asian economies continue to grow, so does the demand for infrastructure partners," said Jennifer Harvey, Group CEO, Crown Worldwide Group. “India is one of our fastest-growing markets, and this new facility strengthens our ability to support clients with physical document and corporate asset storage, digitalisation, and information management solutions.”
Technologically, the Coimbatore site is a flagship for operational resilience. It features a centralized Building Management System (BMS) that allows for real-time monitoring of electrical systems, climate control, and fire safety, all of which are accessible across Crown’s global network. Safety is a paramount pillar of the design, with fire protection systems meeting Indian Standards, supported by a 530,000-litre water reserve and comprehensive hydrant coverage. Security is equally robust, utilising 24/7 surveillance and sophisticated intrusion detection.
“We invest in markets with sustained growth and India continues to stand out in that regard,” said Tze Shen Kong, CEO, Asia, Crown Worldwide Group. “This facility significantly strengthens our ability to serve clients operating in and out of India.”
Sustainability was also a core driver in the construction of the facility. The hub features high-reflectance roofing and insulated construction that naturally lowers internal temperatures by 3–4°C. Furthermore, 15% of the site is dedicated to green cover, aligning the Group’s operational expansion with environmental responsibility.
“India is not just a growth market for Crown, it is increasingly central to how we are building capacity for the region,” said Srinivas Krishnan, Regional Managing Director - South Asia, Crown Worldwide Group. “This facility strengthens our network while preparing us for the scale and complexity of demand we are seeing from clients in South India.”
