GoAir ranked as India's most punctual airline for 13 months in a row

October 22, 2019: GoAir has today ranked as the most punctual domestic airline by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) with 85.4 percent on-time performance (OTP) for the month of September.

October 22, 2019: GoAir has today ranked as the most punctual domestic airline by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) with 85.4 percent on-time performance (OTP) for the month of September. In the monthly data that reflects the performance of domestic airlines in four metro airports of Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai, Indigo came second with 83.7 percent while GoAir has maintained its position for 13 months in a row.

During the month, GoAir flew 13.27 lakhs passengers with 0.12 percent cancellations as against an industry average of 1.37 percent for scheduled domestic airlines. The airline had 0.5 complains per 10,000 passengers.

According to the DGCA data, passengers carried by domestic airlines during Jan-Sept 2019 were 1058.91 lakh as against 1027.93 lakh during the corresponding period of previous year thereby registering annual growth of 3.01 percent and monthly growth of 1.18 percent.

During Sept 2019, a total of 701 passenger related complaints had been received by the scheduled domestic airlines. The domestic airlines have spent Rs39.29 lakh in compensation for passengers who were denied boarding, Rs62.52 lakh for cancellation and Rs134.82 lakh for delays in the month of September.
