October 30, 2017: After a series of successful commodity-specific logistics conferences across India, Indian Transport & Logistics News (ITLN) will host the maiden edition of High-Tech Logistics Summit on November 16, 2017 at JW Marriott, Bengaluru. The conference aimed at gathering stakeholders along the high-tech supply chain has already managed to garner industry-wide support.

Over the last two decades, the Indian economy has witnessed a transformational change from being a low-cost production hub to engineering and building value-added products. The importance of high-tech manufacturing is set to increase as a combination of supply-side advantages, private sector efforts and Prime Minister Narendra Modi administration’s ‘Make in India’ initiative are poised to set India on the path to become a global manufacturing hub. From mobile phones to fighter jets, foreign companies have expressed interest in opening or shifting production lines to India.

As the country is saddled with the paradox of providing world class engineering and technology services to the rest of the world, the logistics involved in high-tech exports are most complicated. It is in this context that the High-Tech Logistics Summit will put in perspective the supply chain concerns plaguing the high-tech sector in India.

The exclusive day-long event themed around “The digital blue print to your high-tech supply chain” will feature presentations and panel discussions with domain experts from the high tech manufacturing space including those from the semi-conductor industry, electronics manufacturers, mobile manufacturers, logistics providers, industry policy makers and regulators, on the latest challenges and opportunities facing the high-tech supply chain.

Wide-ranging topics such as the Impact of ‘Make in India’ initiative and increasing FDI inflows into the high-tech manufacturing sector, implementation of GST and its impact on foreign trade policy to building intelligence into the high-tech supply chain in the rapidly evolving digital age and the future of logistics and supply chain for the high-tech industry will be discussed at length.

Saudia Cargo, a key player in the air cargo industry, is associated with the event as Platinum Sponsor. With an extensive global network spanning four continents and 225 international destinations, Saudia Cargo operates a dedicated freighter fleet and offers ample belly capacity on its passenger flights across Asia, Africa, Europe and the USA.

Bengaluru International Airport (BIAL) has extended its support as Diamond Sponsor. BIAL, the busiest airport in the South India and the third-busiest airport across India, provides world-class air cargo solutions. Working in tandem with its partners, BIAL has a clear focus for the future – to develop Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru as the “South Indian Cargo Gateway to Global Economies”.

Industry associations namely Indian Electronics & Semiconductor Association (IESA) and Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) have also pledged their support to the event.
