Ahmedabad Airport handles India’s first pharma charter to Brazil
Ahmedabad Airport handled two Qatar Airways Cargo freighters carrying over 70 refrigerated containers of temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals to Brazil.
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad, operated by Adani Airports, has facilitated India’s first dedicated pharmaceutical charter flight using temperature-controlled refrigerated containers for a shipment bound for Brazil.
The operation involved two Qatar Airways Cargo Boeing 777 freighters carrying more than 70 high-capacity refrigerated containers with temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals. The shipment was handled in partnership with Expeditors International (India) and Envirotainer.
The specialised movement required coordination among airport teams, airline partners, freight forwarders and other stakeholders to meet cold-chain requirements and ensure timely handling of the consignment.
The operation highlights Ahmedabad Airport’s role in pharmaceutical exports and Adani Airports’ focus on providing air cargo solutions for temperature-sensitive shipments.
The milestone also supports Ahmedabad Airport’s focus on serving India’s pharmaceutical industry with temperature-sensitive logistics solutions for international markets.
