Nissan records 147% domestic growth, begins TEKTON exports
Nissan dispatches its first 1,300+ TEKTON SUVs from India to South Africa, Bhutan and Nepal.

Nissan Motor India reported a 147% year-on-year increase in domestic wholesale volumes in August 2026, supported by demand for the Magnite and Gravite and the market response to its all-new TEKTON SUV.
The company recorded total wholesale of 9,350 units during the month, comprising 3,426 units in the domestic market and 5,924 units exported to international markets.
Nissan has also commenced exports of the TEKTON from India, with the first batch of more than 1,300 units dispatched to South Africa, Bhutan and Nepal.
The exports mark the first phase of the SUV's international rollout under Nissan's “One Car. One World.” strategy. The company plans to progressively introduce the India-manufactured TEKTON in additional international markets.
The start of exports to Bhutan and Nepal also expands Nissan's presence in neighbouring markets, while reinforcing India's role in the company's global manufacturing and export network.
Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India, said the response to the TEKTON had contributed to the company's strong domestic wholesale performance in August. He added that the export business demonstrated the competitiveness of vehicles manufactured in India and the strategic importance of Nissan's Indian operations within its global network.
Nissan said the TEKTON has been developed around its SUV design and engineering approach, combining Japanese craftsmanship, technology, performance and everyday practicality.
The company expects the SUV to play a key role in expanding its presence across both domestic and international markets as it builds a broader product portfolio and increases its export footprint from India.
