August 25, 2018: India and Nepal are expected to ink two key agreements on Kathmandu-Raxual railway line and movement of bulk cargo from three more transit points between the two neighbours.

Nepal officials are preparing a MoU for this, ahead of the regional summit of Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC), Nepal’s Foreign Minister Pradeep Gyawali has reportedly said.

The MoU is for preliminary survey of the proposed railway line. India had agreed to fund the survey during Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s visit to New Delhi in April. Nepali and Indian railway officials are expected to jointly conduct the feasibility study.
