Lufthansa’s time:matters to expand its network in 3 phases

June 12, 2019: Lufthansa Cargo‘s wholly owned time:matters subsidiary plans to expand its network to the Europe-China, intra-Asia and trans-Pacific markets.

“We plan to develop our Asian network and to open around 10 stations in the region in the next few weeks. We’re also looking to develop an intra-Asia network soon,” Alexander Kohnen, CEO, time:matters said on the sidelines of the recently concluded Air Cargo Europe 2019 in Munich.

The company's business focus is on time-critical shipments in the machinery, automotive, aerospace, semiconductor and life sciences industries.

The first phase of expansion will allow time:matters to transport shipments between Europe and China. in the second phase, starting from the fourth quarter of 2019 or the first quarter of next year, the company will extend that to cover Southeast Asia, Japan and South Korea, as well as intra-Asia shipments. In the third phase, time:matters will also launch a legal entity in the United States to enable trans-Pacific shipments.

Earlier in June, time:matters GmbH became certified according to ISO 9001:2015.

“Successful certification is an additional endorsement of our effective strategy for achieving service excellence and quality,” explained Kohnen, adding, “Compliance with the official standards allows us to access new industrial sectors that require a certified quality management system.”
