PESB recommends IOC’s Nitin Khamesra for SCI Director (Finance) role

The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB), the government's recruitment agent for top management posts in Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs), has recommended Nitin Khamesra for the position of Director (Finance) at the Shipping Corporation of India (SCI).

The recommendation was finalised on October 22 after the PESB selection panel interviewed 11 candidates for the high-profile role. Khamesra currently serves as the Chief General Manager (Shipping) at Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL).

The position was vacated prematurely on May 5, 2025, following the suspension of the previous official, C.I. Acharya, after he declined to take up the directorship of Shipping Corporation of India Land and Assets (SCILAL). The application process to find a replacement began in July 2025.

Khamesra's selection is now subject to final approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).

Following the announcement, shares of the Shipping Corporation of India saw a positive movement in Friday's trading at approximately 11:10 am on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the SCI stock was trading at ₹254.89, up by 1.96%.
