FedEx advances AI and digital skilling for Indian youth workforce
FedEx empowers over 1,500 Indian youth with AI, digital, and logistics skills, bridging education-to-employment gaps.;
Marking World Youth Skills Day 2025, FedEx Express, the world’s largest express transportation company, has reinforced its commitment to youth empowerment in India by expanding structured skilling programs focused on artificial intelligence and digital readiness. The initiative aligns with this year’s global theme, “Youth empowerment through AI and digital skills,” and aims to equip young Indians for the fast-evolving digital economy.
In collaboration with nonprofit organizations, including United Way Mumbai and the Magic Bus Foundation, FedEx has helped train more than 1,500 youth across India in high-demand sectors such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, warehouse operations, and supply chain management. These programs integrate technical knowledge with soft skills, ranging from communication to job readiness, to ensure participants are workplace-ready.
“India’s youth represent a critical strategic advantage; empowering them with industry-relevant skills is essential to driving the nation’s economic growth,” said Nitin Navneet Tatiwala, Vice President, Marketing, Customer Experience, and Air Network, FedEx Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and Africa.
Delivered under the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF), the training follows a blended learning model with classroom instruction, hands-on experience, and mentorship. Over 60% of participants have been women, many entering the formal workforce for the first time. To date, nearly 930 individuals have transitioned into jobs across sectors such as technology, logistics, e-commerce, healthcare, and retail, earning between ₹13,000 to ₹30,000 per month.
The initiative’s real-world impact is best illustrated by participants themselves. From Hyderabad to Delhi and Bengaluru, young individuals have shared how these programs transformed their confidence, employability, and financial independence.
FedEx plans to expand these skilling pathways further, reinforcing its role in building an inclusive, digitally proficient workforce in sync with India’s broader economic vision.
