DTDC Express, one of India’s integrated logistics companies, has launched an all-women-operated dark store in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, marking a major step in combining operational excellence with gender empowerment in the logistics sector. The 700 sq. ft. facility, managed entirely by women, handles end-to-end operations, right from warehousing and last-mile delivery to client servicing, with a two-hour delivery turnaround under the company’s rapid commerce service, DTDC Raftaar.

The new facility, inaugurated by Ajay Sukhwani, Vice President and Head of Integrated E-commerce Logistics, and Jayant Parekh, Regional Business Head, has been designed to support a range of client-specific needs. It uses advanced warehouse management technology, enabling deliveries within two to six hours. The women-led team received extensive training on DTDC’s Warehouse Management System (WMS), Last-Mile Delivery App, and rapid commerce protocols to ensure high efficiency and speed.

Commenting on the initiative, Abhishek Chakraborty, CEO of DTDC Express, said, “We’re delighted to launch our all-women-operated dark store in Indore, which we proudly refer to as our ‘Dream Store’. This initiative represents the endless possibilities that lie ahead for the industry. Empowering women in logistics is not just about inclusion; it’s about creating stronger, more agile teams that bring innovation and passion to everything they do.”

He added that as DTDC enters its 35th year, the company is reshaping its network to support India’s next phase of growth, driven by rising demand from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. “Through DTDC Raftaar, we’re offering ‘dark store as a service’ to help D2C and mid-sized brands deliver faster without heavy upfront logistics investments. The Indore Dream Store perfectly brings this vision to life, where inclusivity, innovation, and speed converge,” he said.

Ankita Tiwari, Chief Human Resources Officer, said, “At DTDC, we are not just opening new facilities, we’re opening doors of opportunity.
