Maersk backs India's container manufacturing with 1,000 unit order

India has unveiled its first export-import (EXIM) shipping container built for a major global shipping line, marking a significant step toward developing domestic container manufacturing.

The container was launched at the Inland Container Depot in Dadri, Uttar Pradesh, with Maersk becoming the first international carrier to procure an India-made EXIM container. The company has also placed an order for 1,000 additional containers to be manufactured by DCM Shriram.
