TAP Air Portugal has appointed Aeroprime Group as its exclusive cargo General Sales and Service Agent (GSSA) across India, a move aimed at expanding the airline’s cargo presence in the country. The appointment takes effect from March 2026 and will see Aeroprime manage cargo sales and service activities for the Portuguese carrier across the Indian market.

Under the agreement, Aeroprime Group will oversee cargo sales, marketing, customer engagement and operational coordination for TAP Air Portugal in India. The company will also work with freight forwarders and logistics partners across the country to support cargo bookings and service delivery.

The airline said the partnership aligns with its strategy to increase cargo capacity utilisation and deepen engagement with India’s trade and logistics sectors. India continues to record growth in air cargo flows, particularly in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, perishables and e-commerce, creating demand for connectivity to markets in Europe and the Americas.

TAP Air Portugal connects several destinations across Europe, Africa and the Americas through its hub in Lisbon. Portugal’s location allows it to function as a gateway linking Europe with North, Central and South America, a factor that the airline sees as important for cargo moving between India and transatlantic markets.

Bruno Aires, Global Cargo Senior Director at TAP Air Portugal, said, "India represents a high-potential market for our cargo business. Partnering with Aeroprime Group as our Exclusive Cargo GSSA Pan-India strengthens our local presence and enables us to better serve the evolving needs of the Indian cargo community while expanding our reach across key global markets.”

Aeroprime Group, headquartered in New Delhi, provides airline representation, cargo management, sales and marketing services along with digital solutions for aviation partners. The company operates across multiple cities and countries and works with airlines to develop cargo and passenger markets.

Abhishek Goyal, Executive Director and CEO of Aeroprime Group, said, "We are delighted to be appointed as the exclusive cargo GSSA for TAP Air Portugal in India. This partnership allows us to bring a focused, data-driven approach to cargo market development. With our strong pan-India cargo sales network and commitment to service excellence, we look forward to strengthening TAP Air Portugal’s cargo presence and unlocking new opportunities for trade between India and its global destinations.”

TAP Air Portugal operates an international passenger network supported by cargo capacity on its aircraft fleet. The airline handles shipments that include time-sensitive and high-value goods moving between India, Europe and destinations beyond the continent.

Founded in 1945, TAP Air Portugal operates its main hub in Lisbon and has been a member of the Star Alliance since 2005. The airline maintains connections across Europe, Africa and the Americas and is known for its links between Europe and Brazil.

Aeroprime Group provides services including airline management, cargo representation, travel technology support, cargo digitalisation, regulatory assistance, flight handling and airport supervision services. The company has expanded its presence across more than 20 cities in over five countries.
