Jan 10, 2017: The City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (CIDCO) has decided to extend the deadline to submit financial bids for its ambitious Rs 16,000 crore Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) project to January 25.
The development had hit a roadblock last week when three of the four shortlisted firms namely Tata Realty, GMR and Hiranandani-Zurich Airport decided to pull out of the bidding process. Some qualified bidders had pointed to delay in pre-development work, land acquisition and rehabilitation of project-affected persons, and also lack of stage two environmental clearances, besides award of pre-development works to a bidder in the fray, and deadlines set for completing development of the airport, according to media reports.
With GVK-led Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) as the only firm to submit a bid until January 9, 2017, CIDCO is now extending the date by 15 days giving more time for the other three companies to rethink their decision for the request for quotation (RFQ) stage.
