April 3, 2019: Accutime, an integrated transportation service provider, has launched a long haul 'direct to destination Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) service between Mumbai and Kolkata.

The company is offering a four-day delivery commitment between Mumbai and Kolkata against a normal transit time of 6-7 days by road. This service has been designed to offer the fastest possible delivery of shipments through road network thereby, reducing the need for alternative and expensive transportation by air and rail modes, over long distances, according to the company release.

The growing shipment sizes and volumes to the major distribution centres after the introduction of Goods and Service Tax with e-way bill, has created a need for a much faster, load flexible and cost efficient transportation systems by road, it added.

Before launching this service, Accutime extensively tested the feasibility of this service on a pilot project with long body, multi compartment and high pay load vehicles professionally operated by its fleet management systems.

The existing full truck load service capabilities have enabled the logistics service provider to design and offer a seamless transportation system with LTL and FTL (full-truckload) under one roof leveraging the same network. Accutime plans to introduce a similar model in all major cities in the near future.
