September 27, 2018: On the second day of the FIATA World Congress 2018, Abu Dhabi Ports and Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD) showcased the advantages of setting up base in the region for manufacturers and logistics companies. Chief Commercial and Strategy Officer of Abu Dhabi Ports, Ross Thompson and representatives from KIZAD interacted with members of a large number of leading logistics companies, who are attending the FIATA World Congress 2018.

The discussions were held during the breakfast CEO Forum, organised by Abu Dhabi Ports and KIZAD in association with International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) and Federation of Freight Forwarders’ Associations in India (FFFAI).

During the discussions, Thompson indicated that with the potential impact of concession agreements inked by Abu Dhabi Ports with COSCO and MSC on diverse business sectors locally and internationally, this forum is to see first-hand business opportunities and world class services offered for freight and logistics companies in one of the largest free zones and industrial parks in the Middle East.

The CEO Forum was followed by Business Sessions on Advisory Body Legal Matters (ABLM); Advisory Body International Affairs (ABIA); FIATA Logistics Academy (FLA) & Advisory Body Vocational Training (ABVT); Customs Affairs Institute (CAI); Advisory Body Safety And Security (ABSS) to ponder on sector specific issues that currently freight forwarders and logistics practitioners are facing globally.
