August 29, 2017: Following the successful inaugural edition of Auto SCM Summit last year in Pune, India’s auto hub will host for a second time the Auto SCM Summit from 5 to 6 December 2017 at the Courtyard Marriott in Chakan.

Organised by Indian Transport and Logistics News (ITLN), the second edition of Auto SCM Summit is themed around “Creating a modern and agile supply chain for auto industry in the digital age”. The event is supported by Frankfurt Airport for a second consecutive time.

Commenting on Frankfurt Airport’s support for the event, Dirk Schusdziara, Senior Vice President, Cargo, Fraport AG, said: “Following last year’s successful conference, we again want to invite the whole automotive industry to continue our fruitful dialogue. The last Auto SCM Summit proved how important it is to come together in order to further optimise the supply chain. With new trends coming up continuously, a constant exchange of ideas and best practices helps to gain a competitive advantage in this fast-moving world of digital transformation.”

Schusdziara also highlighted the importance of the Indian market and the potential Indian auto manufacturing industry. “The Indian automotive industry has grown into the sixth largest car manufacturer worldwide, with Pune being the automotive powerhouse in India exporting more than 3 million cars yearly. Consequently, this is also a very important market for Frankfurt Airport. Through a close dialogue with the industry partners, we want to learn about their demands, thus we can adapt our services accordingly,” he said.

The two-day conference is intended for supply chain managers of automotive manufacturers and logistics service providers who want to broaden their current business perspective and get into contact with other players in the supply chain and authorities. The event aims to bring together the whole sector to participate in a lively, interactive exchange. Participants can gain new insights and network with others from the industry in formal and informal settings.
