Fraport cargo rises 3.7% in July, boosting India–Europe trade links
Frankfurt Airport handled 179,055 metric tonnes of cargo in July as global hubs under Fraport expanded capacity.

Fraport reported a 3.7% rise in cargo volumes in July 2025, handling 179,055 metric tonnes across its network. The increase in capacity and movement benefits trade flows to and from India, particularly through key European and intercontinental hubs managed by the group.
Frankfurt Airport, Fraport’s main hub, supported the cargo growth alongside 42,657 take-offs and landings, up 5.3% from last year. The total maximum take-off weight in July was around 2.6 million metric tonnes, an increase of 2.3%.

While Frankfurt recorded 6.1 million passengers in July, cargo handling remained a vital part of operations, ensuring steady movement of goods on both European and intercontinental routes. The network’s reach, including destinations in Greece, Italy, Spain, Thailand, and East Africa, strengthens connectivity for Indian exports and imports.
Overall, the airports actively managed by Fraport served around 22.9 million passengers in July 2025, marking a 4.6 percent year-on-year rise, with cargo continuing to play a key role in global trade links.
