TILOG-LOGISTIX 2015 offers comprehensive trade platform

TILOG-LOGISTIX 2015 that was held at BITEC, Bangna from September 2-4 2015 acted as a platform to discuss the latest perspectives on the world’s supply chain innovations and emerging business opportunities. It also paved the avenue to enable Thai logistics providers to become world-class while connecting logistics network throughout ASEAN + 6. It was the Department of International Trade Promotion coupled with Reed Tradex Co have revamped TILOG-LOGISTIX 2015 and fostered logistics and supply chain providers with cutting edge technologies and administrative procedures from more than 400 brands in 25 countries while helping establish a network in the region. These measures in turn are expected to consolidate trade connectivity, promote efficiency while reducing costs and enhancing competiveness, The International conference on “ASEAN + 6 Trade Logistics 2015 Connectivity Symposium” provided a glimpse into the future of logistics. Nuntawan Sakuntanaga, director-general, Department of International Trade Promotion, who has led TILOG for 11 years, stated that the direction that logistics would take this year is a part of the strategy to improve the capabilities of logistics service provider and prepare them for the changes that would be brought about by the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). Sakuntanaga added that logistics service providers must take advantage of market opportunities that will open up with the change to AEC. The regional economies would also change especially in areas of smoother connectivity and higher competiveness which would change the shape and size of international trade. Service providers would need to improve their capabilities in every area and especially in the area of logistics management which would be a key element towards enhancing competiveness. Sittisak Ananyaprayoon, managing director, Reed Tradex Co stated that the objective of TILOG-LOGISTIX 2015 was to push Thailand to be the Regional Logistics Center.
