Bengaluru Startup Builds Cargo Plane That Uses Water as a Runway

X

Bengaluru-based deep-tech startup Aspera Industries is betting on exactly that with Eureka, an autonomous amphibious cargo aircraft designed to take off and land directly on water.

The fixed-wing, pilotless aircraft uses retractable hydrofoils and is designed to carry up to 1,000 kg of cargo over a stated range of 2,000 km.

Aspera believes using the world's waterways as runways could reduce the need for costly airport infrastructure while opening new possibilities for cargo connectivity.
