FIATA World Congress 2017 to be held in October in Malaysia

Oct 19, 2016: FIATA (International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations) World Congress 2017 will be held from October 4-8, 2017 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. FFFAI (Federation of Freight Forwarders’ Associations in India) urges members of the Indian logistics community to participate in large numbers as a part of the Indian delegation for the FIATA World Congress 2017 Kuala Lumpur, to showcase the prowess of the Indian logistics community.

FFFAI will participate as exhibitor in the FIATA World Congress 2017 in Kuala Lumpur. FIATA World Congress 2018 will be held from September 24-29 in New Delhi. Registration for the FIATA World Congress 2018 will begin at the FIATA World Congress 2017.

On the occasion of FIATA’s 90th birthday, FIATA held its 2016 World Congress in Dublin, Ireland. Hosted by the Irish International Freight Association (IIFA) working closely with FIATA, this congress presented a new format and welcomed an array of high profile speakers to discuss the key issues of the industry, with a strong accent on innovation. During the Congress FIATA and IATA signed the new air cargo cooperation agreement and likewise FIATA and Organisation for Co-operation between Railways (OSJD) signed a Memorandum of Agreement. Other agreements at government level were also prominently featured and attracted global and regional attention.

The event facilitated serious networking opportunities for delegates and a significant number of technology vendors in the exhibition hall.

At this Congress FFFAI was represented by a strong Indian delegation consisting of Debashis Dutta, Amit Kamat, Sailesh Bhatia, VipinVohra, Alan Jose, Tej Contractor and Samir Patel. The delegation had discussions with TT Club who are one of the major insurers of transit cargo and who regularly sponsor the Young Freight Forwarders Award of FIATA and are also sponsors of the delegate kits during the FIATA World Congresses since last many years. The delegation also had discussions with ITE, which is one of the prominent exhibition organizers globally, organising more than 30 events in India annually across all segments. They are keen to collaborate with FFFAI for organising the exhibition on the sidelines of FIATA World Congress 2018. FFFAI is in discussions with ITE for FIATA World Congress 2018.
