Nov 07, 2016: Jet Airways to start daily direct flight from Bengaluru to Singapore with effect from December 14, 2016, further expanding its connectivity across the ASEAN region. The new flight will offer travellers from Hyderabad, Mangaluru, Coimbatore and Thiruvananthapuram connectivity to Singapore through Bengaluru. This service has been introduced in response to growing demand on this sector, particularly from business and corporate travellers.

Jet Airways flight 9W 024 will depart Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport at 1110 hrs and arrive in Singapore at 1810 hrs (Local Time). The flight 9W 023 will leave Singapore at 1915 hrs (LT) to arrive in Bengaluru at 2115 hrs (LT).

The airline will deploy a state-of-the-art Boeing 737-800 Next Generation (NG) aircraft on this route, offering Premiere and Economy guests the best in-flight product and services along with award-winning in-flight Entertainment (IFE), as also meals that are regional favorites.

The introduction of this new service is in keeping with the growing popularity amongst our guests, for enhanced seamless connectivity between the ASEAN region and India. Both Bengaluru and Singapore are popular destinations for information technology, tourism, trade and investment, therefore it was only logical for Jet Airways’ to facilitate the same for the Indian traveller.”

Bengaluru is an established and a key IT and an investment destination for Singapore companies looking to invest in India. All these business activities ensure robust growth of air traffic to and from Bengaluru. Over the past two years, there has been an encouraging 15 percent year-on-year growth from Singapore to South Indian cities. Apart from business travellers, there is also a sizeable growing VFR (Visit Friends & Relatives) and leisure traffic movement to Bengaluru due to its many tourist attractions and pleasant weather conditions. Similarly guests from Bengaluru can connect to several Asian destinations including Haneda, Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh City, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Penang and Shanghai, as well as leading Australian ones such as Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth over Singapore.
